HONESTY

Honesty can be defined as is the quality to be free from any fraud or deception or the human quality of communicating and acting truthfully.

Some of big people in the history have give their opinion about honesty. Some of them are Shidarta Gautama The Bhuddist and Socrates.

A Buddhist teaching on honesty taught:

“Real honesty is being honest about what your possibilities are, what your potentials are. That's where true honesty lies. It stretches us. It’s not simply admitting where we are - that’s a beginning step, it’s not the end step. So be honest about where you are but also be honest about what your possibilities are. That keeps the challenge of the path always before us.”

Socrates had much to say about truth, honesty and morality, and explained that if people really understood that their behavior was wrong — then they simply wouldn't choose it. Furthermore, the more dishonest someone is, the less likely they are to understand honesty and characterize their behavior as wrong.

By dishonesty, sometimes it becomes very difficult to us to know the differences between lies and truth.

In what way someones can be dishonest?

  1. home and family
  2. school
  3. relationship
  4. work
  5. to self

The consequence of being dishonest in our lives are:

  1. no one will believe you

  3. difficult to gain success
  4. you end up a miserable person.

The morale are:

He mentioned that face in reference to how people present themselves in social situations and that our entire reality is constructed through our social interactions. Face is broken down by Goffman into two different categories (two kinds of face): 1) Positive face is the desire of being seen as a good human being, when others like, respect and approve of us and 2) negative face is the desire to remain autonomous, when we feel that others cannot constrain us in any way.

Brown and Levinson outline four main types of politeness strategies:
